It's been about a year now since I began to put some of my experiences and thoughts into this blog.  A lot has changed in that time both in the jewelry industry and in the world in general.

I never thought that gold would make that black magic number of $1000.00 per ounce, not to mention silver breaking $20.00 per ounce.  In the same way I never thought that I'd see $4.00 per gallon gasoline yet, here they both are.....evil monsters that are sucking the life, and money out of me and you.  Products of all kinds that used to be easy and cheap to get are costing a fortune now.

Now that gold and oil prices are so high, it seems that the only people who can afford the gold are the people in the oil business.  So that's the angle I took to try and 'ride the wave' (so-to-speak) of the boom....we are making an entire line of OIL RELATED & OILFIELD JEWELRY and it is selling very well both in our store, The Karat Patch in Big Spring Texas, and on the internet.  We have a great line of oil well drill bits, derricks, and pump jacks as rings, earrings, and pendants.  And we are introducing new products every month.
